Ground breaking for the new building was June 16, 1995.  It opened it's doors on November 28, 1997; although some of the children were moved in the months prior to the Nov. opening.

There are 200 beds in Tongling Social Welfare Insitute.  Eighty of the beds are for the elderly and there are 120 beds for the children.

You will see the names.... Tongling Social Welfare Institute, Tongling Children's Welfare Institute,  Children's Welfare Yard and maybe a few more names scattered throughout the website.  We have all had different translations, on legal documents and brochures, for the name of the orphanage.   My assumption is that the whole building is named Tongling Social Welfare Institute and the children's side of the building is named or referred to as Children's Welfare Institute or Children's Yard.  These names may be used interchangeably.  Be assured, we are all speaking of the same orphanage.
