Are there many incidences of head lice, scabies or skin problems among these children?

For us, we didn't have any major health problems to deal with. Emily did not have scabies or head lice but I went prepared to deal with this. She did have a rash or chapping on her cheeks. I took Johnson's sensitive skin baby lotion and baby wash (no perfumes) and Hefei had a bar of Johnson's sensitive skin baby soap in the hotel room for us. With those and low dose hydrocortisone cream her skin cleared up quickly. She still has sensitive skin and I have to watch what we use.

Collette was "basically" clean. I remember that her hair was a little matted in the back, like she got some food or milk in it. Actually, the orphanage director chastised the nanny for that when she noticed it during our luncheon with them.  She had no problems such as scabies or lice.

Mia had no scabies or head lice.  She did have cradle cap.  She also had and still has very dry skin.  Nothing a little lotion can't cure.

When we adopted Kate in June of 1998, she did not have scabies or lice. She did have (or develop) a slight skin rash while in China which we believe was possibly a reaction to eating some foods she had not had before. It was not very bad at all.

Collette didn't have any skin rashes.

No scabies or lice on any of the babies in our group. Lauren did have a nasty rash/burn on her thigh where the edge of the split pants must have rubbed her. Even though I used neosporin on it, it became a bit infected. After a few days it finally responded to the ointment & cleared up.

Her face was very red & dry the first few days. I used lots of lotion on her and it cleared up quickly.

Bethany did not have scabies, lice, etc.,

She had scabies, no lice. Extremely bad case of diaper rash, which had been treated with gentian violet (sp?), leaving vivid purple spots!!

Katie had no skin problems at all.

Our 19 month old did not have scabies, lice or any other skin problems.

Olivia did have scabies AND an excessively sweaty head. She has a rather dry skin but I wouldn't call it eczema. I use various moisturizers on her.  I treated the scabies in China - I caught them too ;-)

My daughter had one spot of impetigo on her nose. Otherwise, she was immaculate. I have known other children who came back with scabies. One of the reasons their hair is cut short is so they don't get head lice.

Mallory did have Scabies when we got her at 16 months.

Our Rebecca did not have any skin problems, I do not think any in our group did.

Amy had no skin problems were we were united, not even diaper rash.

Amanda did have a small rash on her leg that lasted about 3 weeks.  Our doctor here didn't know what it was, but it went away on it's own.
